What I have been reading: “Drive” by Daniel Pink. An insightful look into what really motivates us in life and work. Forget the traditional carrots and sticks; Pink explores the human need for autonomy, mastery, and purpose. It completely reframed the “quiet quitting” phenomenon for me (you know where employees do the bare minimum – Google it). Instead I ask myself as a leader what am I doing to help people be inspired to grow!

What I have been doing: Last week, I took on the zero to hero challenge for our property lovers community. Focusing on no and low money down deals, it’s been an exhilarating experience watching students undergo a paradigm shift. Picture this: From whinging about needing money to make money to becoming savvy with property options and having the superpower to control 6 and 7 figures plus worth of property all within a week! It’s been inspiring, and I can’t wait to see how these students hit the ground running in property now.

What I have been watching: I’ve recently started watching “After Life” with Ricky Gervais. It’s funny but also a bit depressing. A dark comedy that delves into grief and finding meaning after loss. Gervais’s character balances sarcasm with vulnerability in a way that’s both laugh out loud funny and heartbreaking. All part of life’s rich tapestry I guess. As Walter Anderson once said:

“Bad things do happen; how I respond to them defines my character and the quality of my life. I can choose to sit in perpetual sadness, immobilized by the gravity of my loss, or I can choose to rise from the pain and treasure the most precious gift I have – life itself.”

What I have been thinking about: The power of gratitude and the significance of living in the present moment. Why do we often overlook the simple pleasures of life? It’s like I’ve been too caught up in tomorrow to enjoy today. So, I’m trying to consciously acknowledge what I’m thankful for each day, however small. As the ancient proverb goes:

“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift, that’s why it’s called the present.”

I have to keep reminding myself but I am trying to embrace the present moment and not become consumed by regrets of the past or anxieties about the future. Mental note: celebrate and engage with life here and now.

PS: We released a new podcast this week, it is a deep dive into how to fund your next property deal. You can listen to them all now on Apple, Spotify, Youtube, our Website or wherever you find your podcasts, you don’t want to miss it.
